Bruce McClelland

President, CEO & Director

Bruce McClelland is CEO and President of Ribbon Communications (Nasdaq: RBBN), a global communications and network solutions provider to service providers, enterprises,  and critical infrastructure sectors. Bruce is a technical business leader with a proven history of developing and growing sustainable, profitable businesses through technology and business cycles. Before joining Ribbon, Bruce was CEO at ARRIS and led its sale to CommScope, where he served as COO. During his tenure at ARRIS, Bruce held multiple leadership positions and had  a key role in the successful acquisition and integration of multiple companies including Ruckus, Pace and the Motorola Home Business. Bruce began his career at Bell Northern Research and held several leadership roles at Nortel. He has served on the boards of ARRIS and Benu Networks, and actively supports the Georgia Cystic Fibrosis chapter. Bruce holds a BS in Electrical Engineering (Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada.

Sam Bucci

EVP & General Manager, Packet Optical Business Unit

Sam Bucci is the Executive Vice President & General Manager Ribbon’s Packet Optical Business Unit, where he is responsible for managing all research and development, product management and customer support teams for the company’s packet and optical networking solutions. Prior to Ribbon Sam lead the multi-billion-dollar optical networking business unit for Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent. Nokia acquired Alcatel-Lucent’s packet optical business in 2016. While at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent he was responsible for the P&L of the entire optical networking business unit and oversaw various functions including engineering, product management, portfolio management, business strategy, supply chain, RBC (regional business centers), support and professional services, marketing communications and product marketing. Prior to his tenure at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, Sam spent several years at Nortel Networks’ optical business unit in various senior product management, sales, and business development roles. He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree with distinction from McGill University in Canada.

Steven Bruny

EVP Sales, Americas Region

As Executive Vice President Sales, Americas Region, Steven Bruny is responsible for overseeing the organization’s customer facing sales in teams in Canada, the US, and the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) and global marketing. Steven previously served as EVP of Global Sales and Services for Ribbon and prior to that, he held a variety of senior leadership roles at GENBAND, including Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Major Accounts Sales.

Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Colorado State University and an MBA from the University of Colorado.

Petrena Ferguson

Petrena Ferguson

Petrena serves as Ribbon’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources where she is responsible for leading the company’s global workforce strategies. Prior to the merger of GENBAND and Sonus, Petrena served as Vice President of Human Resources for GENBAND for 8 years. In this role she was responsible for working closely with the senior leadership team to align Human Resources strategy and support with the organization’s global business and go-to-market objectives.

Petrena has more than 20 years of Human Resources leadership experience in the telecommunications and Information Technology industries, specializing in the areas of Talent and Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and mergers & acquisitions.

She holds an Honor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Western Ontario.

 

Miguel Lopez

Miguel Lopez

EVP, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Lopez most recently served as the CFO of Vista Outdoor Inc. (NYSE: VSTO), a leading global designer and manufacturer of outdoor sports and recreation consumer products. He was instrumental in driving cost out of the business, executing on strategic portfolio divestitures, and reducing financial leverage with a low-cost scalable capital structure. Prior to joining Vista Outdoor, he served as the CFO at Veritas Technologies where he drove profitability improvements through portfolio and operational improvements. Prior to joining Veritas Technologies, he was the CFO for Harris Corporation where he played an integral role in reshaping the corporate strategy, which resulted in the $3 billion acquisition of Exelis Inc. From 2011 to 2014, he was the CFO for Aricent Group/KKR Private Equity, where he drove initiatives focused on improving profitability, leverage position and global tax structure. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience as Vice President, Finance at Cisco Systems and Tyco International, as well as international assignments with IBM and KPMG.

Mick holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (double Major in Finance and Accounting from Georgetown University) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.  He is a Certified Professional Accountant and has maintained this certification since 1983.

Patrick Macken

EVP, General Counsel

As Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Patrick Macken is responsible for the company’s global legal and compliance functions and also serves as the corporate secretary for the Ribbon Board of Directors.  Mr. Macken brings to the company more than 20 years of legal experience, much of which has been spent advising companies in the technology, media and telecom sector.  Prior to joining Ribbon, Mr. Macken was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ARRIS  International plc. Mr. Macken was also a Partner in the corporate practice at Troutman Sanders LLP.

Mr. Macken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and received his Juris Doctorate degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Tulane Law School where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.

John McCready

EVP, Chief Transformation Officer

As Ribbons Communication’s Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, John McCready is responsible for integration efforts and process improvement. Prior to this role, McCready was the Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy, where he oversaw business development and strategic planning.   He joined GENBAND through its acquisition of the Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions (CVAS) division of Nortel where he held many roles including EVP for Products & Corporate Development.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Jimmy Mizrahi

Jimmy Mizrahi

EVP, Packet Optical Product Strategy

As Ribbons Communication’s Executive Vice President of Packet Optical Product Strategy, Jimmy Mizrahi is responsible strategic planning for the Packet Optical Networking business unit and leading the Packet Optical Portfolio team. Prior to this role, Jimmy was the EVP and Head of the Product Portfolio at ECI Telecom. Prior to that, Jimmy led the Optical Networking Line of Business at ECI Telecom and was responsible for the launch of Apollo product line. Before that Jimmy was the head of the PLM team of NG optical product line. Prior to this role, he worked in Strategic Marketing at ECI, specializing in alternative carrier applications for utilities and cable operators worldwide. Prior to ECI Telecom Jimmy held positions at Tadiran Telecom and Enavis Networks, where he designed network solutions for global and cellular applications. He has 15 years of experience in the telecoms market in the areas of product management, product marketing, strategic marketing and business development.

Jimmy holds a B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tel Aviv.

Kevin Riley

EVP, Chief Technical Officer

As Executive Vice President and  Chief Technical Officer, Kevin Riley drives Ribbon Communication’s mid and long-term technology leadership.

Prior to his current role he served as CTO and SVP of Engineering and Operations for Sonus. Kevin has more than 20 years of software development and engineering experience and previously was instrumental in Sonus’ efforts to drive an industry leading technology roadmap, including the award winning Sonus SBC SWe (software edition) and SBC 7000, the two most successful new product introduction in Sonus’ history. Before this role at Sonus, he served as Vice President of Platform Engineering and Director of Core Software.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Tony Scarfo

EVP and General Manager, Cloud and Edge Business Unit

As Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cloud and Edge Business Unit, Tony is responsible for managing all research and development, product management and customer support teams for Ribbon’s network transformation, real time communications and Kandy “as a service” offers. Tony has end-to-end responsibility for the continued competitiveness and quality of these market-leading solutions. Prior to his current role, he served as EVP of Products and R&D for Ribbon.

Having spent more than 30 years in telecommunications, Tony boasts numerous achievements, including leading Sonus in introducing the industry’s first software-only Session Border Controller (SBC), the Sonus Software edition (SWe). He served as Sonus Networks’ Executive Vice President of Technology and Business Development from 2013 – 2016, where he oversaw the company’s solutions roadmap across cloud, mobile, virtualization and Unified Communications (UC) technologies and helped Sonus become one of the fastest growing SBCs on the market. He also previously served in several other leadership positions at Sonus.

Tony’s career has spanned technology, channel, business development and sales leadership roles at companies including Polycom, Inc., ECI Telecom Ltd., Juniper Networks Inc., Unisphere Networks Inc., Lucent Technologies Inc. and AT&T Inc.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Manhattan College and an MBA from Seton Hall University.

Yaal Shain

EVP, Operations

As Ribbons Communication’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Yaal Shain is responsible for supply chain, manufacturing, professional services, corporate and manufacturing quality, and Packet Optical customer support.

Prior to this role, Yaal was the EVP of Customer Operations & Service of ECI Telecom after having successfully led the customer deliveries organization. During his tenure, Yaal was able to reduce lead times and commitments to some of the best in the industry. Yaal brings over 15 years of experience in the telecom sector and a proven track record of operational excellence leadership. Prior to ECI, Yaal filled various senior positions in global corporations such as Comverse, MER Telecom and Whitewater Technologies. Yaal holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems from the Tel-Aviv University and an MBA from the Technion.

Irit Touitou

EVP, Packet Optical R&D

As Executive Vice President of Packet Optical Networking R&D, Irit Touitou is responsible for leading the global Packet Optical R&D team and is responsible for the development and delivery of the transport product family as well as the 5G program for Packet Optical portfolio.  Irit previously served as EVP Global Technologies at ECI Telecom.

With nearly 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Ms. Touitou brings vast experience and knowledge to the position. Irit started her career at ECI, where she acted as a software engineer and team leader. Since then, Irit served in key leadership positions in Philips, Amdocs and Comverse. She led large and innovative R&D teams in diverse domains and technologies including networking, NMS, and CRM for Telco operators. In both Philips and Amdocs, she also acted as VP and General Manager for global business units where she led interdisciplinary groups of engineering, service, sales and marketing teams across different markets and geographies. Irit is passionate about innovation and creating superior value add for customers.

Irit holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Statistics from Tel Aviv University, and an executive MBA from the Kellogg-Recanati program jointly from Northwestern University and Tel Aviv University.

Fernando Valdivielso

EVP Sales, EMEA and APAC

As Executive Vice President Sales, EMEA and APAC, Fernando Valdivielso is responsible for overseeing the organization’s customer facing sales in teams in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC).  Fernando previously served as EVP of Global Sales and Marketing at ECI Telecom.

Fernando has more than 25 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry in a variety of senior positions. In 2015, he joined ECI Telecom to head the European team and drove double-digit growth across the region. Previous positions have included responsibility for sales, account management and customer operations for several multinationals such as AT&T, Lucent, Samsung, Nortel and NSN. With proven experience managing sales and marketing teams increasing top line, business transformation and company restructuring, Mr. Valdivielso has a vast knowledge of the Telecommunication industry and market dynamics in both the vendor and carrier side and in channels and marketing.

Fernando holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid  (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and an Executive MBA from IE Business School.
