BG-64

High Capacity Micro-MSPP

A dependable, high-capacity (40 Gb), and miniature in size (2U) redundant ADM-64/MADM-16 Micro-MSPP, bringing 10 Gb to the access loop. With low-entry cost and build-as-you-grow® architecture, it is a perfect match for the cost-sensitive access and cellular backhaul markets. The BG-64 data and SDH, PDH, or Ethernet services over fiber, Microwave Radio or a combination of both, enabling cost-effective support for mix of TDM and Ethernet based services, and a smooth migration path to NGN networks. The platform allows carriers to leverage their SDH installed base while offering a mix of PCM, PDH, and carrier-class data services, including Ethernet L1 and L2 and MPLS-based services as well as to build an Ethernet overlay from the same network element.

Despite its miniature size, the BG-64 offers full redundancy and an optional expansion unit to support microwave radio, additional fan out or 1/0 cross-connect functionality. Designed for harsh environments, the BG-64 can be deployed in street cabinets and so enable traffic backhauling to start right at the output of IP-DSLAMs. The BG 64 is optimized as an access aggregation platform and as an MSAG (MultiService Aggregation Gateway) high-capacity CLE platform. It supports enhanced video handling and P2MP multicast tree connectivity, as well as star VPLS for IPTV and IGMP control messages. This enables highly efficient bandwidth savings for broadcast TV/IPTV services.

BG-64 works in concert with the entire ECI portfolio to provide a complete solution tied together by ECI's 1Net architectural framework.

Features

  • Hybrid+: Native Ethernet and TDM handling
  • Redundant ADM-64/MADM-16
  • Compact – the smallest ADM-64
  • Unique convergence of PDH, SDH, and carrier class Ethernet/MPLS in a single miniature enclosure
  • Full non-blocking 40 Gbps LO/HO matrix
  • A true scalable non-traffic-affecting build as you grow solution (from 64 Kbps up to STM 64)
  • Cross connect (DXC 1/0) capability – supporting a rich mix of low bit rate interfaces
  • Optional expansion unit (BG-30E)
  • Ethernet transport schemes – EoP (P2P, P2MP), EoS, EoMPLSoSDH, EoMPLS
  • Ethernet services support - E-Line, E-LAN, E-Tree Topology agnostic – enabling mesh, ring, multi-ring, star, and point-to-point topologies
  • Mix and Match - PDH, TDM and Ethernet (L1/2, MPLS) services
  • Advanced video distribution - P2MP multicast tree, IGMP

Benefits

  • A product for life: From native TDM to Ethernet over TDM Native Ethernet and TDM over Ethernet
  • Full flexibility to deliver any service (TDM and Ethernet) over any medium (fiber and microwave)
  • Suitable for street cabinet and harsh environment installations
  • Cost cutting – minimal power consumption, redundancy, and full remote management for lowest OAM&P expenses
  • Leverage on existing infrastructure to deliver new services
  • Reduction of the risks associated with rolling out new services
  • Smooth migration to packet-based network without jeopardizing current revenue-generating service
  • Low TCO - Same I/O cards as BG30B and BG20/30E
