LightSoft NMS 

LightSoft, ECI's network management system (NMS), features a unique multidimensional approach to managing today's converged networks. It handles one physical layer and several technology layers, including Ethernet, Optical and SDH/SONET. This creates a graphic interface that gives users a comprehensive view of the entire network, while allowing customization of individual technology-centric views.

LightSoft NMS works in concert with the entire ECI portfolio to provide a complete solution tied together by ECI's 1Net architectural framework.

• LightSoft powerful user interface lets operators manage all technologies including SDH/SONET, DWDM, and Carrier Ethernet/MPLS from the same application and with the same look-and-feel, allowing fast implementation of new technologies into the network.
• Automation tools allow NOC personnel to quickly perform a wide range of operations with a single user action such as automated topology changes and bulk service creation.
• LightSoft's Alarm Correlation feature intelligently performs root-cause analysis to reduce the number of alarms presented to the NOC operator, cutting down alarm resolution times and improving QoS.
• Alarm Forwarder sends alarms via SMS and e-mail allowing Service Providers to reduce OPEX by forwarding alarms to off-site technicians after business hours. It can also automatically escalate critical network faults to top executives.
• LightSoft's Customer Network Management module enables Service Providers to offer self-management capabilities to their customers as an added-value service. Customers can autonomously provision services as well as monitor alarms and performance counters.
• Resource Domain Partitioning gives Service Providers the power to enforce security policies using a fine granularity scheme matching their geographical and organizational structure, reducing risk from human error or policy violation.
• Multiperiod Performance Monitoring provides historical graphical reports for performance counters, helping Service Providers to monitor network health over a period of time, detect trends, and guarantee conformance to SLAs.
