All-Native Multiservice Packet Optical Transport System

Extending OTN to the access layer: Flexible optical networking solution for the metro access layer. Its simplicity and small footprint are ideal for metro edge applications

With capabilities similar to the larger XDM-1000, the XDM-40 provides optical networking at the metro access layer for both Ethernet and TDM traffic.  It delivers fully transparent GbE/10 GbE, storage, 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps services.  Part of the 1Net framework, the XDM-40 features a small, yet flexible design for low density sites, with high availability and scalability from CWDM to DWDM, including pluggable optics.  It also supports passive and amplified metro topologies.

Simple deployment: Protects investments with a simple and flexible solution for
     low density sites
Universal card architecture: Single modular card provides versatility in service
     offering
Cost-effective in-line amplification: Compact in-line amplifier site for regional
     and long-haul networks
