​High capacity OMLT system for the metro core and long-haul for cost-effective aggregation of TDM, Ethernet and IP/MPLS over OTN and WDM. It can be configured as a pure optical networking platform (with OTN, ROADM and high capacity WDM capabilities), multi-terabit ODU cross-connect with full WDM capability, CESR with multi-terabit packet switching capacity or as an integrated packet-optical solution.
 
The Apollo OPT9648 is a high-capacity OMLT system targeted for metro core and regional/long-haul applications with a multi-terabit universal fabric. By just plugging in the right cards, you can configure it as a high capacity ODU cross-connect, high capacity CESR system or OMLT system, supporting any mix of ODU and packet switching.  By using a variety of L1, L2 and L3 service cards and switching fabrics options, the OPT 9648 meets your network requirements.  Part of ECI’s 1Net framework, the OPT9648 supports a variety of state-of-the-art ROADM modules, fix and tunable lasers and a GMPLS-based control plane, enabling fully flexible WDM networks with colorless, directionless and contentionless functions.

Multiservice and future-proof:  Universal fabric ensures there is no stranding of assets over
     time as the traffic mix changes, and support for OTN as well as packet traffic ensures strong

Flexibility & modularity: Universal I/O slots ensure full utilization of the chassis and eliminate
     the potential stranding of any I/O card assets. Photonic modules, L1 and L2/3 service cards can
     be installed in any of the universal slots. In stand-alone optical configuration, the fabric slots are
     used as any other universal slots in the system
Pay-as-you-grow: No penalty over functionalities not deployed right away, through scalable I/O 
     and the addition of new technologies, such as WDM or CESR, only when needed
